Set in the beautiful surroundings of Loon Lake Lodge in Maple Ridge, BC, this retreat combines theological reflection with hands-on learning. Together, we will explore the biblical and historical foundations of Christian worship and discover how worship shapes our relationship with God, our communities, and the world.

Meet the Teachers

Dr. Mark Glanville
Biblical Scholar • Pastor • Jazz Pianist • Equipping Leaders for Post-Christian Communities

Dr. Mark Glanville is the Director of the Centre for Missional Leadership at St. Andrew’s Hall in Vancouver. A biblical scholar, pastor, author, and jazz pianist, Mark equips Christian leaders to lead faithfully in post-Christian contexts with theological depth, pastoral wisdom, and creative insight. With 14 years of pastoral experience in both Canada and Australia, he helps churches reimagine what it means to embody the tenderness of Jesus in their local neighbourhoods while remaining deeply rooted in Scripture. Mark is the author of five books, including Preaching in a New Key and Improvising Church, and his work explores how Scripture forms communities shaped by harmony, hospitality, mission, and faithful witness. Before pastoral ministry, Mark worked full-time as a jazz pianist and continues to perform on the Vancouver jazz scene while hosting the Blue Note Theology podcast.

Dr. Erin Goheen Glanville
Community Organizer • Spiritual Caregiver • Scholar of Refugee Narratives and Justice

Dr. Erin Goheen Glanville is a community organizer and spiritual caregiver serving as Lead Pastor at Artisan in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Her work brings together community, imagination, justice, and spirituality through scholarship, ministry, and public engagement. Before serving at Artisan, Erin taught refugee cultures at the University of British Columbia and completed a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Simon Fraser University, where she explored digital storytelling as a tool for critical dialogue around refugee experiences in Canada. Her work centers on storytelling, hospitality, and fostering cultures of listening, helping communities deepen their understanding of migration, belonging, justice, and neighbourliness. Erin is an affiliate of the Centre for Migration Studies, Secretary of the Board for Kinbrace Community Society, and co-editor of Countering Displacements, with extensive contributions in refugee studies, migration, faith-based activism, and postcolonial studies.

Glen Soderholm
Pastor • Worship Leader • Songwriter • Missional Leader

Glen Soderholm lives in Guelph, Ontario and has served as a pastor, church planter, worship leader, and missional leader for many years. He currently leads a missional network for the Presbyterian Church in Canada, helping churches engage their communities with creativity, hospitality, and mission. Glen also directs Moveable Feast Resources, a ministry dedicated to equipping the church in its liturgical life through teaching, worship leading, and music. A gifted songwriter and musician, Glen has released six albums and has led worship in a wide variety of liturgical settings. His ministry combines pastoral wisdom, theological depth, and creative leadership, encouraging communities to encounter God through worship that is both meaningful and transformative.

Robyn Froese
Artist • Worship Leader • Songwriter • Educator

Robyn Froese is a prairie folk artist, worship leader, songwriter, and educator based in Vancouver. An award-winning performer, Robyn has toured across Canada and built a diverse body of work as both an artist and creative leader, releasing five EPs, two full-length albums, and numerous singles, while also appearing on BBC Radio and completing artist residencies in Canada and France. She has written music for congregations and denominations internationally, helping communities engage worship through meaningful and formative musical experiences. Passionate about the intersection of faith, creativity, and community, Robyn facilitates songwriting workshops that foster connection, healing, and artistic expression. She is currently completing her Master of Theological Studies at Vancouver School of Theology, exploring the role of the arts in faith, community, and transformation.
