Biography

Darrell Guder served as the first fellow of the Centre for Missional Leadership since its founding in 2015.  Darrell served as editor of Missional Church: A vision for the sending of the Church in North America and is recognized as one of the key influencers in the missional theology world.  Darrell is an ordained minister in PC(USA) and has taught at Whitworth College, Louisville Theological Seminary, Columbia Theological Seminary and Princeton Theological Seminary where he retired in 2015 and is the Henry Winters Luce Professor of Missional and Ecumenical Theology Emeritus.  Darrell has stressed the importance of witness for Christian communities in the post-Christendom West and has published several important works on the topic including Be My Witnesses: The Church’s Mission, Message, and MessengersThe Incarnation and the Church’s Witness, The Continuing Conversion of the Church, and Called to Witness: Doing Missional Theology.  Darrell’s grace-filled presence, wit and wisdom have been a tremendous source of strength, direction, and encouragement for the CML team over many years.
