Rev. Dr. Ross Lockhart (PhD, Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam) is the Dean of St. Andrew’s Hall, the Presbyterian Church in Canada college at the University of British Columbia. Ross was the founding Director of the Centre for Missional Leadership in 2014 and has participated in the development of the ministry over the years.
Ross is passionate about forming disciples and nurturing Christian communities of witness that share and show the gospel in a post-Christendom context. Ross has served as a youth pastor, associate pastor and senior minister in congregations in Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and British Columbia, as well as several ministry exchanges with the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
As a missiologist, Ross focuses on research exploring Christian witness in our secular and pluralistic Canadian context. Ross is the author of West Coast Mission: the Changing Nature of Christianity in Vancouver; Lessons from Laodicea: Missional Leadership in a Culture of Affluence; and Beyond Snakes and Shamrocks: St. Patrick’s Missional Leadership Lessons for Today; co-author of Better Than Brunch: Missional Churches in Cascadia as well as Christianity: An Asian Religion in Vancouver and editor of Christian Witness in Cascadian Soil and The Continuing Witness of the Missional Church.
Ross regularly leads congregational workshops and guest preachers in pulpits across the country and is available to resource your Christian community.
